Religious Studies

In an era of religious and cultural pluralism, of atheism, and of secularism, it is increasingly important for people to understand the phenomenon of religion and the roles it plays in society. There is a need to be able to consider and discuss religion in an informed and balanced fashion, on its own terms as well as in terms of its location amidst the expressions of human culture. This programme offers insight into, and reflection upon, many of the great religious and cultural ideas. While the emphasis is on the Christian tradition, students are introduced to, and given an appreciation and understanding of, a number of the other world religions.
